the test of leadership is not to put greatness into humanity but to elicit it, for the greatness is there already

Management & Leadership

Failing to train in a slowing economy is dooming your organisation to fail. Economic uncertainty is no excuse to ignore the backbone of any organisation: its people. Retaining talent is now a priority and those organisations who want to emerge from recession in relatively good shape will be shaping a strategy to grow its leaders from within.

Management & Leadership Programmes

Good administration is the hallmark of good management and the proper use of resources.  Managers become leaders when their personality and character, their knowledge and the functional skills of leadership they display, are accepted by those around them.

An effective leader has the appropriate knowledge and skill to lead a group to achieve its outcomes willingly.  In leadership there are always 3 variables:  the leader, the situation and the team members.   The skill of the leader comes in knowing which functions to apply in any given situation.

Leadership skills can be learned because functional leadership is all about what one does rather than relying on strength of character.  That said, assertiveness is a useful quality to possess in effective leadership.

Sarah has a particular interest and enthusiasm in management and leadership topics, having been a manager in the latter part of her corporate career.  Her first hand experience of managing people helps her steer her training delegates through their perceived obstacles regarding management and leadership and her excellent track record bears testimony to this success.  She includes the ideas of Ken Blanchard and John Adair in her training, combining theory with real-life issues such as dealing with conflict, a topic which many managers dread.  As well as delivering programmes on leadership, Sarah also facilitates "team tuning" events, helping individuals improve their inter-team communication, set team objectives and develop a team vision.  She has helped teams decide how best to improve their service to customers and patients on away day events.

Sarah is committed to the development of new managers and in particular, the female workforce.  She has designed and created a unique leadership programme for women who are in supervisory or management positions or who want to be.  See the list below of programmes available:

The Effective Manager - a 3 day programme combining personal effectiveness with leadership techniques

The Effective Female Manager - a 5 day programme including a day on personal image & grooming

Action Centred Leadership - a 2 day introduction to the world-renowned work of John Adair

Team Tuning - a 1 or 2 day event, introducing team dynamics, natural team cycles and how to operate within them
